Bromsgrove Museum
The Museum is housed in the former Coach House of Davenal House, built in1780. There are many exhibits portraying Bromsgrove’s local history including glass, salt, nails and buttons and the Bromsgrove Guild. There are also shop windows displaying costumes, toys and cameras.

Parish Church of St John
The church stands on the hill where a Saxon church once stood. Originally rebuilt by the Normans, the church has a 13thC chancel and south aisle and a 14thC north aisle and tower. The church contains much 19thC stained glass as well as interesting tombs and monuments. The churchyard is approached through a 17thC lych gate and 42 steps.

Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings
An open-air museum of historic buildings, covering seven centuries, rescued and rebuilt here at Avoncroft. The first was a house from Bromsgrove, the only surviving open hall house in the shire dating from1475 with a timber framed smoke hood of 1550. Other buildings include a 16thC half-timbered house from Shrewsbury, a cockpit from Bridgnorth and the great 14thC Gueston Hall roof from Worcester Cathedral which has been incorporated into an exhibition/concert hall. There is also a working windmill, 18thC farm buildings and nail and chain making workshops.

Birmingham and Midland Museum of Transport
A collection of 100 buses and other historic vehicles. There are operating days when visitors are able to ride on some of the buses.

Hanbury Hall
Built in 1701 the hall is a fine red brick house in the style of Wren. The painted ceilings and the staircase are by Sir James Thornhill, famous for the painted hall at Greenwich. There is also a porcelein collection, Dutch flower pictures and a bed c.1730 with its original hangings. In the grounds are an orangery c.1740 and an old icehouse.

Hagley Hall
Hagley Hall was commissioned in1756 by George, the first Lord Lyttleton and is the last great Palladian to be built in England. The Barrel Room has panelling and an over-mantel salvaged from the old Hagley Hall where two of Guy Fawkes’ fellow conspirators were caught. The picturesque park has temples, cascading pools and a ruined castle.

Jinney Ring Craft Centre
Craft workshops a short distance from town in the village of Hanbury have been created in a number of timbered barns. Potters, Wood Carvers, Stained Glass artists can be seen at work. There is a gallery, gift shop, tearoom and licensed restaurant. Open all year Wednesday to Saturday 10.30am – 5.00 pm, Sunday 2.00 pm –5.30 pm 01527 821 272

Shopping
Daub and Wattle’s pottery shop in Windsor Street, Bromsgrove is brick floored, oak-beamed and little changed since it was a button factory in 1821. Original designed pottery is hand made on the premises.
